7.5 MW Biomass-Fired Boiler House for Woodworking Industry
Delivery scope: Turn-key technology supply
Application: Industrial process heat – overheated water
Operating temperature: up to 165 °C
The 7.5 MW biomass-fired boiler house is a fully integrated, turn-key energy solution designed to supply high-temperature overheated water for a woodworking production facility. The plant is engineered for continuous industrial operation, high fuel flexibility, and reliable performance, while meeting strict safety and environmental requirements.
The scope of supply covers the complete technology chain - from fuel reception and storage to heat generation, flue gas treatment, automation, installation, and commissioning.
Main scope of supply and key systems
Fuel Storage System
The boiler house is equipped with two separate active fuel storage units, each designed as a fire-retardant system to enhance operational safety and reliability. The dual-storage configuration ensures uninterrupted fuel supply and operational flexibility during maintenance or fuel changeover.
Fuel Handling and Preparation
An integrated fuel handling line provides controlled and consistent fuel delivery to the combustion system. The system includes:
* Fuel screeners for removal of oversized or unwanted particles
* Inline belt scales for continuous fuel mass flow measurement
* Magnetic separators for removal of ferrous contaminants, protecting downstream equipment
This configuration ensures stable combustion conditions and protects critical mechanical components.
Moving Grate Biomass Furnace
A moving grate (MW) furnace forms the core of the combustion system, ensuring efficient and complete burnout of biomass fuels. The grate design allows gradual fuel movement, stable combustion, and effective ash discharge under varying load conditions.
3-Pass Vertical Hot Water Boiler
The furnace is coupled with a 3-pass vertical hot water boiler, designed for high heat transfer efficiency and long service life. The boiler produces overheated water at operating temperatures up to 165 °C**, meeting the process heat demands of the woodworking industry.
Dry Economizer
A 2-pass dry economizer with integrated by-pass is installed to recover residual heat from the flue gases, increasing overall boiler efficiency and reducing fuel consumption.
Two-Stage Flue Gas Treatment
The flue gas cleaning system incorporates two-stage particulate removal, ensuring compliance with environmental emission limits and stable long-term operation.
Ash Handling System
Automatic ash extraction and discharge systems ensure clean operation, safe residue handling, and reduced manual intervention.
Automation, Control, and Electrification
The boiler house is equipped with a modern automation and control system, covering:
* Combustion control and load regulation
* Fuel handling coordination
* Temperature, pressure, and safety monitoring
* Alarm management and data logging
Full electrical supply, power distribution, and instrumentation are included in the scope.
Mechanical and Electrical Assembly
The project scope includes complete mechanical erection and electrical installation of all supplied systems, ensuring seamless integration and correct interface management.
Commissioning and Start-Up
Final project delivery includes cold and hot commissioning, system tuning, functional testing, and assisted start-up, resulting in a fully operational boiler house handed over for industrial production use.
This project represents a robust, high-temperature biomass energy solution tailored for industrial applications, combining reliable combustion technology, advanced fuel handling, and comprehensive turn-key delivery to ensure efficient and safe long-term operation.
